My Weekly Book Haul #9: I Have A Book Problem!

STSmall
Friday Finds is something that was started over on ShouldBeReading and Stacking the Shelves over at TyngaReviews, I am in love with all of these as I love finding other blogs to follow and books to read through these! So check them all out and see what you find, Stacking the Shelves has a lot of participants as well which is great. This is basically a way for me to show what books I have received, borrowed or bought each week.
http://shouldbereading.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/fridayfinds_bringontheink.png

I need to stop being sent on relief to other library branches; they have different books to us and I end up borrowing more books than I can even try to read! I went on relief twice this week; which explains why my book haul is embarrassingly large. In case you're wondering cover pictures are from Goodreads and so are summaries, other than the physical haul which I got from the backs of the books.
I've had an okay week, mostly just working and I'm looking forward to some time off! Next week will be a great week, going to see The Hunger Games double bill on Wednesday night and then celebrating my seven-year anniversary with my boyfriend on Saturday! Excited.

Physical Haul
2 bought, 20 borrowed & 1 amazing Legolas bookmark.

This Week I Bought:
The Courage Tree
The Courage Tree by Diane Chamberlain (Adult Fiction)

Can a mother ever give up hope?
Janine wants her child to live a normal life full of adventure, so she lets her precious daughter go on her first overnight camping trip.
When Sophie disappears, Janine is immediately facing a countdown she has no control over. Because Sophie isn't like every other girl... she suffers from a rare disease. Every day her daughter is missing is one day closer to her death.

I love Diane Chamberlain, I own all her books and this sounds really great. Plus, I love the cover.

Dare You To (Pushing the Limits, #2)
Dare You To by Katie McGarry

Beth Risk has spent her whole life hiding the truth about her family and never letting anyone get too close.
Suddenly sent to live with an uncle she barely knows, she's struggling to start afresh in a new town and at a new school that doesn't get her. At all.
Ryan Stone is the school's gorgeous golden boy - with secrets he can't tell anyone. As Ryan and Beth dare to let each other in, they're treading on dangerous ground- and the consequences could change their lives forever.

I've already read this and thought it was okay. You can find my review here

This Week I Borrowed:
Unearthly (Unearthly, #1)Hallowed (Unearthly, #2)
Unearthly & Hallowed by Cynthia Hand

Clara is part angel. Through terrifying visions of a forest fire she is shown her purpose: to save a beautiful, unknown boy. When she finds Christian, the boy from her visions, he's everything she could wish for. But Clara discovers there's a darker side to her purpose. And if Christian is so perfect, why does she have feelings for someone else?

Fury (The Fury Trilogy, #1)Envy (Fury, #2)Eternity (Fury, #3)
The Fury Trilogy by Elizabeth Miles

Em loves the winter holidays. And, this year, things are really looking up: the guy she's been into for months has finally noticed her. But if she starts something with him, there's no turning back. Because he's going out with her best friend.
On the other side of town, Chase's home life is stressful and his social life's unravelling. But that's nothing compared to what's really haunting him. For Chase has done something cruel- something the perfect guy he pretends to be would never do. And it's only a matter of time before he's exposed.
Em and Chase are about to find out that mistakes can be deadly. And three beautiful, mysterious girls are going to make them pay.

Immortal Beloved (Immortal Beloved, #1)Darkness Falls (Immortal Beloved #2)Eternally Yours

After some of the events I've witnessed I felt like I was a shell with nothing alive left in me.
I hadn't been going around killing people, but people were hurt - the memories just keep trickling in like rivulets of fresh acid dripping into my brain until I wanted to scream. It was in my blood, I knew.
A darkness.
The darkness.
I had inherited it, along with my immortality.

The covers don't match and this really bothers me!

Defiance (Defiance, #1)Deception (Defiance, #2)
Defiance and Deception by C. J. Redwine

Rachel's world is confined to the protective walls around her city. Beyond them are violent wanderers, extreme terrain and a danger straight out of legend: a beast called the Cursed One that devastates everything in its path.
When Rachel's father goes missing, she is desperate to search for him. But her attempts to flee the city bring her to the attention of its overbearing ruler. His efforts to control her make the world within the walls seem as dangerous as that outside.
Her only chance for escape is Logan. Once her father's apprentice and now her sole protector, he feels that helping her might mean losing her completely. But if he can put his feelings aside, they might be able to save more than Rachel's father. They might be able to break down the walls and set their people free.

Geek Girl (Geek Girl, #1)Model Misfit (Geek Girl #2)
Geek Girl and Model Misfit by Holly Smale

Harriet Manners knows a lot of things.
Cats have 32 muscles in each ear.
Bluebirds can't see the colour blue.
The average person laughs 15 times per day.
Peanuts are an ingredient of dynamite.
But she doesn't know why nobody at school seems to like her. So when she's offered the chance to reinvent herself, Harriet grabs it. Can she transform from geek to chic?

Attachments
Attachments by Rainbow Rowell

It's 1999 and the internet is still a novelty. At a newspaper office, two colleagues, Beth and Jennifer, email back and forth, discussing their lives in hilarious detail, from love troubles to family dramas. And Lincoln, a shy IT guy responsible for monitoring emails, spends his hours reading every exchange.
At first their emails offer a welcome diversion, but the more he reads, the more he finds himself falling for one of them. By the time Lincoln realises just how head-over-heels he is, it's too late to introduce himself.
After a series of close encounters, Lincoln eventually decides he must follow his heat... and find out if there is such a thing as love before first sight.

Eleanor & Park
Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

Eleanor is the new girl in town, and with her chaotic family life, her mismatched clothes and unruly red hair, she couldn't stick out more if she tried.
Park is the boy at the back of the bus. Black T-shirts, headphones, head in a book - he thinks he's made himself invisible. But not to Eleanor... never to Eleanor.
Slowly, steadily, through late-night conversations and an ever growing stack of mix tapes, Eleanor and Park fall for each other. They fall in love the way you do the first time, when you're young, and you feel as if you have nothing and everything to lose.

The Vampire Shrink (Kismet Knight, Ph.D., Vampire Psychologist, #1)
The Vampire Shrink by Lynda Hilburn

As a rational scientist who knows full well vampires are all hokum, Kismet Knight is the perfect choice to counsel troubled wannabe vamps. That is until she meets Devereaux: a sexy, mysterious man who claims to be a real - and immensely powerful - 800 year old vampire, and she is pulled into a whirlwind of inexplicable events that starts her questioning everything she once believe about the paranormal.
Kismet Knight is about to achieve her dream job- but becoming the Vampire Shrink is going to change her life. Forever.

Black City (Black City, #1)
Black City by Elizabeth Richards

Natalie, a human and the daughter of a government official, is still reeling from her father's murder by a crazed Darkling, so how can she now be falling for Ask, a brooding half-blood Darkling boy?
Despite being half-human, Ash is scorned everywhere he goes. The Sentry have banished all Darklings to the wrong side or the ghetto wall and would love nothing more than to have them totally eradicated from the United Sentry States. Though he tries to deny how he feels about Natalie, knowing it could be a danger to them both, Ash is finding it hard to stay away.
In the aftermath of a terrible, bloody war in the still-smouldering Black City, Natalie and Ash do the unthinkable - they fall in love.

The 100 (The Hundred, #1)
The 100 by Kass Morgan

No one has set foot on Earth in centuries - until now.
Ever since a devastating nuclear war, humanity has lived on spaceships for above Earth's radioactive surface. Now, one hundred juvenile delinquents - considered expendable by society - are being sent on a dangerous mission: to recolonise the planet. It could be their second chance at life... or it could be a suicide mission.
Clarke was arrested for treasons, though she's haunted by the memory of what she really did. Wells, the chancellor's son, came to Earth for the girl he loves - but will she ever forgive him? Reckless Bellamy fought his way onto the transport pod to protect his sister, the other half of the only siblings in the universe. And Glass managed to escape back onto the ship, only to find that life there is just as dangerous as she feared it would be on Earth.
Confronted with savage land and haunted by secrets from their pasts, the hundred must fight to survive. They were never meant to be heroes, but they may be mankind's last hope.

The Last Minute
The Last Minute by Eleanor Updale

9.21am: business as usual on a high street in England.
9.22am: the explosions are heard for miles around, and in the early confusion there is talk of a gas leak, a plane crash, and even terrorism...
The people of Heathwick had been preparing for Christmas unaware that many would die, and the rest would be transformed forever. Travel with them, second-by-second, through the hopes, fears, love, worries, gossip, cruelty, kindness and trivia that dominated the final minute before tragedy struck.
And in the everyday story of an ordinary street, look for clues to what happened - and why.

More Than This
More Than This by Patrick Ness

A boy drowns, desperate and alone in his final moments. He dies.
Then he wakes, naked, bruised and thirsty, but alive.
How can this be? And what is this strange, deserted place?
As he struggles to understand what is happening, the boy dares to hope. Might this not be the end? Might there be more to this life, or perhaps this afterlife?

The Sweetest Spell
The Sweetest Spell by Suzanne Selfors

Welcome to Angland, a fairy-tale kingdom where chocolate is only legend.
Emmeline Thistle, a dirt-scratcher's daughter, escaped death twice- first, on the night she was born, and second, on the day her entire village was swept away by a flood. Left with nothing and no one, Emmeline discovers her rare and mysterious ability- she can churn cream into chocolate, a delicacy more precious than gold.
Suddenly, the most unwanted girl in Anglund is desired by all. But Emmeline wants only one- Owen Oak, a dairyman's son, whose slow smiles and lingering glances tempt her to believe she might someday be loved for herself. But others will stop at nothing to use her gift for their own gains- no matter what the cost to Emmeline.
Magic and romance entwine in this fantastical world where true love and chocolate can conquer all.

This Week I Received For Review:

Fault Line
Fault Line by C. Desir

Ben could date anyone he wants, but he only has eyes for the new girl- sarcastic free-spirit, Ani. Luckily for Ben, Ani wants him too. She's everything Ben could ever imagine. Everything he could ever want.
But that all changes after the party. The one Ben misses. The one Ani goes to alone.
Now Ani isn't the girl she used to be, and Ben can't sort out the truth from the lies. What really happened, and who is to blame?
Ben wants to help her, but she refuses to be helped. The more she pushes Ben away, the more he wonders if there's anything he can do to save the girl he loves.

Impostor (Variants, #1)
Impostor by Susanne Winnacker

Tessa is a variant, able to absorb the DNA of anyone she touches and mimic their appearance. Shunned by her family, she's spent the last two years training with the Forces with Extraordinary Abilities, a secret branch of the FBI. When a serial killer rocks a small town in Oregon, Tessa is given a mission: she must impersonate Madison, a local teen, to find the killer before he strikes again.
Tesse hates everything about being an impostor - the stress, the danger, the deceit- but loves playing the role of a normal girl. As Madison, she finds friends, romance, and  the kind of loving family she'd do anything to keep. Amid action, suspense, and a ticking clock, this super-human comes to a very human conclusion: even a girl who can look like anyone struggles the most with being herself.
